Sypnosis

Penthouse 2 focuses on Shim Su-ryeon's secrets, Oh Yoon-hee's revenge, Cheon Seo-jin's downfall, and the Hera Palace kids who want to be the best and win the grand award at the Cheong-ah Arts Festival.

After successfully framing Oh Yoon-hee for murder, Cheon Seo-jin and Joo Dan-tae decided to get married. Their engagement party is interrupted by Oh Yoon-hee and Ha Yoon-cheol, who have just come back from the United States. As the secrets unveil, the relationships among the people at Hera Palace are entangled, yet another mysterious figure appears and confronts them.

  • Lee Ji-ah as Shim Su-ryeon / Na Ae-kyo
Shim Su-ryeon: A graceful, dignified woman who is humane and kind, despite her immense wealth. She and her husband live in the penthouse, making her the queen of the social clique at Hera Palace. Despite knowing about her husband's affair with Cheon Seo-jin, she is determined to take revenge for her daughter Min Seol-ah.
Na Ae-kyo: Business partner and mistress of Joo Dan-tae, as well as the biological mother of Joo Seok-hoon and Joo Seok-kyung. She bears a striking resemblance to Shim Su-Ryeon and has a butterfly tattoo on her back.
  • Kim So-yeon as Cheon Seo-jin
A wealthy woman who is the epitome of showy and arrogant and who harbors warped ambitions. She is a woman who would do anything for power, money and pride. She pushes her daughter, Ha Eun-Byeol, to sing well to beat Oh Yoon-hee's daughter, Bae Ro-na, who is better than her.
  • Eugene as Oh Yoon-hee
A woman whose dreams have been stunted by her lack of money and power. With gritted teeth, she has had to take on any job and humiliation to support her daughter's ambitions. Oh Yoon-hee does everything in her power to move up socially so that her child can enter Cheong-ah Arts School.

Shim Su-ryeon/Na Ae-kyo's family
  • Kim Young-dae as Joo Seok-hoon
Dan-tae and Su-ryeon's twin son. He protects his sister when their father assaults/hits him. He falls for and dates Bae Ro-na, despite Ha Eun-byeol's burning jealousy, as well as his sister Seok Kyung's vehement disapproval.
  • Han Ji-hyun as Joo Seok-kyung
Dan-tae and Su-ryeon's twin daughter. A cunning and treacherous soprano student who hates Bae Ro-na and Ha Eun-byeol. It is revealed that she has been a victim of domestic abuse because of her father (Dan-tae).
  • Jo Soo-min as Anna Lee/Min Seol-ah
Joo Seok-hoon and Joo Seok-kyung's tutor/biological daughter of Shim Su-ryeon. She died in Hera Palace.
  • Na So-ye as Joo Hye-in
Su-ryeon's daughter, who was switched with Min Seol-ah when she was born. Being born sickly during birth, Dan-tae tried to kill her in order to get her share of properties but Su-ryeon saved her and sent her to America where she currently resides.
Cheon Seo-jin's family
  • Um Ki-joon as Joo Dan-tae (Fake Identity)/Mr. Baek (Real Identity)
Former husband of Shim Su-ryeon. Lover of Na Ae-kyo, current husband of Cheon Seo-jin. A genius in real estate who rakes in money with every investment he makes. He is evil to the core and money matters to him. Chairman of J King Holdings. He was engaged with Cheon Seo-jin in the start of season 2.
  • Choi Ye-bin as Ha Eun-byeol
Seo-jin and Yoon-cheol's daughter. She is constantly pressured by her mother to sing better than Bae Ro-na and she is in love with Joo Seok-hoon. Like her mother, Eun-byeol is evil but tormented by manipulative people. The pressured caused by her mother makes her more psychopathic and develop hatred against Bae Ro-na.
  • Jung Sung-mo as Cheon Myung-soo
Seo-jin's father. He is very intent on keeping Cheong-ah's reputation intact due to which he gives the foundation to Seo-young after Seo-jin's divorce and affair is known to him. He dies by falling down a set of stairs with Seo-jin by his side, who lets him die and burns his updated will so she can keep the foundation.

Oh Yoon-hee's family
  • Yoon Jong-hoon as Ha Yoon-cheol
Former husband of Seo-jin and current husband of Yoon-hee. An ambitious man who believes that a man must hold wealth and power. He is the head of surgery in the VIP department of a hospital. He divorces Seo-jin at the end of season 1, marries and allegedly divorces Yoon-hee in season 2, his first love. They team up to bring down Seo-jin and came back from the United States with a successful biopharmaceutical company called JohnBio.
  • Kim Hyun-soo as Bae Ro-na
Yoon-cheol and Yoon-hee's daughter. She is a good soprano singer, and she wants to do her best in school and beat Eun-byeol to enter the Seoul National University. She was scammed by Ma Du-ki and was on the waiting list to enter Cheong-ah High School, and she managed to get in by the death of Seol-ah. In Season 2 she was supposedly killed on the day of Cheong-ah Arts Festival, unknown to everyone however, she was saved by Su-ryeon.
  • Hwang Young-hee as Yoon-hee's mother-in-law
She was paid by Seo-jin to go to Hera Palace and make a scene, accusing Yoon-hee of not letting her visit her granddaughter, Ro-na, and blames Yoon-hee for the death of her son. She is a woman who would do anything for money.
  • Choi Won-young as Bae Ho-cheol
Yoon-hee's first husband. Later on, it was revealed that he cheated on Yoon-hee. He died prior to the events in the series.
Kang Ma-ri and family
  • Shin Eun-kyung as Kang Ma-ri
A woman who has recently come into wealth and leads a secretive double life. She lies to everyone in Hera Palace that her husband, Jenny's father, is in Dubai, but in reality, he is in prison. She bribes the guards with expensive goods to let her in to see her husband in prison. She advises her daughter to become friends with Joo Seok-hoon, Joo Seok-kyung and Ha Eun-byeol so that she can get on the good side of the wealthy people of Hera Palace.
  • Jin Ji-hee as Yoo Jenny
Ma-ri and Dong-pil's daughter. She went to the same middle school as Ro-na. She was enemies with Ro-na, and accused her of poisoning her drink which nearly caused Ro-na to be expelled from school. However, at the end of season 1, she gives food to Ro-na when she sees Ro-na in shock outside her house with 'murderer' scrawled on her door. She doesn't know that her father is in prison. In season 2, she is bullied for giving Ro-na food after her mother's been convicted as a murderer and develops a stress disorder.
  • Park Ho-san as Yoo Dong-pil
Ma-ri's husband, Jenny's father. He was previously in prison on-behalf of Dan-tae, and was released at the end of season 2.
Lee Kyu-jin and family
  • Bong Tae-kyu as Lee Kyu-jin
The only son and momma's boy of a wealthy family of judges and lawyers, and is himself a lawyer. In season 2, he becomes an assemblyman in Gangnam.
  • Yoon Joo-hee as Go Sang-ah
Wife of Lee Kyu-jin and a former announcer.
  • Lee Tae-vin as Lee Min-hyeok
Kyu-jin and Sang-ah's spoiled son.
  • Seo Hye-rin as Wang Mi-ja
Kyu-jin's mother and former actress who has a amassed a fortune from a career in culinary television.

Others

  • Park Eun-seok as Gu Ho-dong/Logan Lee
A nice PE teacher at Cheong-ah Arts School who is actually a successful Korean-American businessman in disguise. He fights for justice and is Anna's older adoptive brother. He eventually grows feelings for Su Ryeon. At the end of Season 2, he was allegedly killed by Joo Dan-tae and Joon-Ki with a planted bomb..
  • Ha Do-kwon as Ma Doo-ki
Music teacher at Cheong-ah Arts School. He is a man who would do anything for money. He was hired by Seo-jin to make Ro-na sing a song in another language in order to make her fail the audition which causes Ro-na to end up on the waiting list. He also praises Eun-byeol to get on the good side of Seo-jin. He accepted bribes from Dan-tae in exchange for the exam answers so Seok-kyung can beat Eun-byeol. After he found out that Yoon-hee and Dan-tae are acquainted, he apologizes to her for his wrongdoings and starts treating Ro-na better but starts treating her horribly when she re-enters school.
  • Lee Cheol-min as Yoon Tae-joo
Dan-tae previous secretary, he betrayed Dan-tae and was later killed in car accident.

The current secretary of Dan-tae.
